As the 6-hour drive progressed we saw the snow increasing the closer we got to New York. We kept ourselves occupied by playing with Jude and chatting.
We stayed in the town of New Paltz, not far from Walkill.
When we arrived we decided to play in the snow a bit. Taris made some snowballs (and is now a firm believer in the snowball effect) and she made a snow angel, then we checked out how deep the snow was.
The next day I got really sick with the flu, and Rev and Taris were still busy fighting their's off. We were up early to be in the city by 9am, to see the "Woman and the Seed" (Gen 3:15) tour at the Metropolitan museum.
^ We saw some yellow cabs.
^ This is the main entrance of the Met,
^ And this is one of the exhibits inside.
^ This is our tour group. There was a couple from Nepal who we met.
We learnt so much on that tour! It brought so much to life. One brother described it as 'walking through the Index book'.
After the tour, we wrapped up nice n warm and walked up 5th Avenue along Central Park. We stopped for coffee in a tiny tiny store and then walked back down Madison Avenue. Brrr, freezing!
We made our way home after the long day and stopped at a place called the Gilded Otter for supper. Soup and chilli were the orders of the day, especially since it was so cold. An early night was welcomed after such a long but special day!
Awww so nice to look at your pics! The MET tour is still my absolute highlight - what a wonderful experience we got to have going through so much history! It was truly faith strengthening!
ReplyDeleteWe miss you girls! Love Rev :)
I'm so sorry I didn't have a chance to put all the pics from NY onto your pc:( There are so many great photos I wanted to share with you guys! Maybe we'll be able to make a plan.
